Advanced Stylist Level II

Position Summary

Revitalize U Med Spa and Salon is searching for a talented cosmetologist to join our team! This position will be responsible for providing guests with the best experience possible. You should be comfortable using a variety of hairstyling techniques for different customers. Cross-promoting other med spa services and stylists is very important in this team.

To do well in this role, you will need to have excellent people skills and the ability to accurately capture the style that our clients hope to achieve with their haircut. You should also keep yourself aware of new styles and emerging trends in hairstyle.

Position Responsibilities

• All employees are responsible for a basic knowledge of the employee handbook, along with the mission and vision of Revitalize U, and must conduct themselves with behavior that supports these values.
• All employees are responsible for making the most of their working time and reach maximum potential by being 20 minutes early for work.
• All dress code standards will be upheld as outlined in the employee handbook.
• All employees are expected to escalate issues as necessary.
• All employees must conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner as outlined in Revitalize U’s code of ethics and conduct, as found in the handbook.
• All employees will specifically be trained on their job duties, however; other mandatory trainings may be deemed appropriate by management for one or all members of the team.
• All employees must occasionally collaborate with the leadership team to create, revise, and maintain accurate job descriptions.
• Consult with guests to ensure services being performed are requested and in line with what the guest wants.
• Communicate with guests throughout scheduled appointment time with regards to ticket totals, services performed, and add-on service options.
• Be informed of services offered at Revitalize U. Always ask for help if you are uncertain about a service or technique!
• Always wear a watch and manage your appointment time appropriately.
• Clean color bowls, brushes, and whisks, tear foils, continuously load, switch, and fold laundry, clean and sanitize brushes and combs, and ask fellow Team Member if there is anything you can do to assist them.
• Have all necessary tools that you are personally responsible for providing. Use all salon provided equipment with respect and assist with maintaining salon equipment in good working order.
• Anticipate needs, especially in regards to keeping guests informed of any scheduling changes, and never be afraid to ask for help!
• Engage in knowing where you are at numbers wise. Where you’re going, what your goals are, and how you are going to get there.
• Participation in photoshoots and outside education that Ludic provides is not only a privilege and perk of your employment, but an expectation. These opportunities which Ludic affords, are an excellent way to expand your career and talent. These all fall outside the scope of your contracted training and compensation.
• Other projects and/or duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited Cosmetology school or apprenticeship program.
• Valid and active State of Iowa Cosmetology License.

Experience Requirements

• Three (3) years of experience working in an upscale salon providing professional services.
• Working knowledge of salon/barber products and services.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build long lasting client relationships to drive business.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently.
• Capable of working effectively in a team setting.
• Self-motivation to seek and complete tasks as assigned.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing work environments.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.

• Mathematical Requirements:
  1. Basic mathematical knowledge is required, such as subtraction, multiplication, and division skills to the general degree.
• Reasoning Ability Requirements:
  1. Professional-level, reasoning abilities are necessary to process complex information and prioritize deadlines.

• Physical Requirements:
  1. Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be necessary from time to time. Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours a day).
  2. Small motor skills will be required to cut hair, comb hair, and manipulate scissors and other small implements.
  3. Bending, squatting, reaching.
