Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Advisor

JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSABILITIES:

The Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Assistant plays a key role in supporting the DME Manager across various facets of operations, including but not limited to order evaluation, billing, documentation management, and other essential tasks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for assist in prescription orders evaluation and patient prequalification processes for Durable Medical Equipment and selected outpatient therapies, including respiratory therapies.
• Follows operational workflow for member eligibility, diagnosis prequalification and submitted information in the internal systems.
• Submits the orders and necessary documentation to the billing team for the billing process through Noblehouse Clearing House and Reever.
• Follows CMS rules and Joint Commission standards to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.
• Ensure that all necessary documentation is obtained as it relates to payer requirements and standard operating procedures.
• Assist in the coordination of daily medical equipment delivery to patient homes with the DME Technician.
• Be prepared to work from the DME distribution center as required, undertaking tasks such as quarantine management, equipment disinfection, inventory counts, and order fulfillment.
• Ensures all the patient files are up to date and in compliance with CMS rules and Joint Commission standards.

REQUIRED:

• Pharmacy Technician with DME experience, preferred.
• More than 5 years of previous experience in healthcare.
• Experience of DME billing, preferred.
