Korpack is looking for a highly organized, attentive, and independent individual for its high-paced Buyer role to drive the success of Korpack.

What Your Day Will Consist of:

Smart Purchasing Decisions to Maximize Profit:
  • Responsible for purchasing all inventoried items and ensuring inventory is committed to by customers to mitigate inventory risk and maximize profitability.
  • Mitigate aged inventory and ensure effective communication of vendor price increases to impacted customers for profitability objectives.
  • Leading contributor to our procurement dashboard metrics

Procurement Process:
  • Monitor and manage a Supply Chain email inbox with multiple incoming emails daily.
  • Place all orders for open items by End of Day (EOD).
  • Ensure accurate pricing before placing purchase orders (POs).
  • Confirm and expedite open purchase orders, paying special attention to high-priority orders.
  • Interact with external vendors to ensure requirements are met and resolve issues regarding open orders.
  • Oversee daily supply chain processes and procedures (purchasing, inventory returns, quote requests, etc.).
  • Contribute to the month-end close to ensure accurate inventory and purchase order reporting.
  • Manage KORPACK fleet transportation schedule
  • Key member of the replenishment team and purchase decisions

Relationship Management:
  • Act as a liaison between Sales/Customer Service, Finance, and Warehouse operations for purchasing-related issues.
  • Communicate with co-workers, customers, partners, and suppliers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Respond to supply chain-related inquiries and foster positive relationships.
  • Ensure vendor data and contacts are up to date.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with our top vendors and partners.
  • Manage the "rebate matrix" by vendor to best track and optimize spend with vendor incentives and rebates
  • Negotiate and manage price changes by vendor (increases/decreases), including price sheet entry review
  • Assist in sourcing and vendor price maintenance when needed

Continuous Improvement:
  • Make recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of purchasing operations.

Problem Solving and Communication:
  • Resolve billing and shipping problems and provide information to suppliers.
  • Communicate with vendors to ensure schedules are met to satisfy customer expectations.
  • Lead communication internally, specifically sales regarding aged items and leading weekly aged inventory results and metrics.

Assist with special projects as requested.

The mission of the role is to manage the purchasing process, process purchase orders, negotiate with suppliers, track orders, create and maintain inventory, organize vendor data, provide quality assurance, and liaise with required departments to ensure all POs match SO requirements.

What You Need to Bring to the Role

Required Experience
  • A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field is required.
  • Competence using ERP
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Prior packaging experience
