JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Actively support and further the Mission of The Arc. "To empower people with disabilities to believe in their unique abilities and achieve their full potential by providing quality, innovative services that focus on advocacy, independence, employment, meaningful community life, and personal happiness."
  2. Follow all office practices and procedures and proper mailroom activities.
  3. Sort and route incoming Rock Island Arsenal official mail from the U.S. Postal Service each workday. X-ray all incoming mail and stamp accordingly.
  4. Process outgoing and base mail, including applying proper postage when necessary. Set the postage meter functionality to result in proper payment for each mail piece.
  5. Picks up and delivers mail to all assigned delivery points on Rock Island Arsenal, including urgent and sensitive documents.
  6. Assesses all outgoing mail for proper and complete addressing, labeling, and packaging.
  7. Maintain quality standards and promote a positive work environment.
  8. Complete all assigned paperwork and forms promptly.
  9. Provide general clerical coverage for all assigned mailroom activities.
  10. Maintain mailroom forms, supplies, and equipment to ensure government standards.
  11. Maintain confidentiality regarding government or Arc information.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  13. Must be able to work with occasional interruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Clerical experience preferred (typing, filing, etc.)
  3. Strength and flexibility to lift equipment and supplies
  4. Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with others.
  5. Ability to pass government security clearance.
  6. Must be able to provide documented proof of disability.
