Job Title: Community Relations Coordinator

Department: Communications

Reports to: Director of Development and Communications

Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: $60,000/yr

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Job Summary: The community relations coordinator will engage with neighbors, volunteers, donors, and community stakeholders to help facilitate a positive relationship with the surrounding Multnomah Village community. This role will be responsible for the coordination / organization and accurate tracking of in-kind donations, help with the onboarding / engagement of new and existing volunteers, facilitate volunteer activities and site events, and will act as an external facing representative of All Good Northwest at various neighborhood meetings / events. This role will interface with the MSRV staff, the Communications & Development Department, and Director of Operations to ensure a mutually beneficial relationship between the community and the MSRV (All Good Northwest).

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept, track, and organize incoming In-Kind donations
  • Work in collaboration with the Director of Development to ensure proper donor receipting and acknowledgments
  • Coordinate / process new volunteer applications in compliance with internal volunteer policies
  • Develop and manage system to accurately track volunteer hours, hours of donated services, and community partners
  • Partner with MSRV Program Manager to coordinate / manage all volunteer opportunities and on-site events
  • Partner with Communications and Development team to ensure communications presence at relevant opportunities
  • Represent All Good Northwest and MSRV at various community tabling events / stakeholder meetings; including some weekends
  • Work alongside the communications department and the communications specialist to coordinate media inquiries / opportunities and ensure appropriate external messaging to the community
  • Work with MSRV staff to create / assist on-site events & activities for participants
  • Work with Communications Specialist to ensure appropriate use of organizational style guidelines and brand standards on all collateral, both internal and external
  • Build partnerships with nearby businesses / neighbors and maintain a strong working relationship with the Friends of Multnomah Safe Rest Village Neighborhood Coalition
  • Assist the Communications and Development department in the planning and coordination of fundraising events

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background in Communications, Social Work, or Advocacy preferred
  • 2 years' experience working in a nonprofit environment, social services, community outreach, or grassroots neighborhood advocacy
  • 2 years’ experience with managing volunteers or working in a volunteer coordination role
  • Prior experience engaging in community outreach events, volunteer events, or neighborhood coalition groups
  • Experience building / streamlining systems, tracking and coordinating donations, volunteer hours, or other incoming workflows
  • Experience creating / coordinating group activities
  • Ability to communicate effectively in front of diverse audiences and overall public speaking skills
  • Familiarity or experience with Trauma Informed Approaches
  • Familiarity with or interest in development / community centric fundraising / neighborhood advocacy
  • Experience with Asana, Donor Perfect, or Salesforce is preferred

Travel required:

  • Occasional travel to and from other work sites up to 30% of the time.
