POSITION OVERVIEW:

Routinely clean patients rooms, nursing units, surgical areas, administrative offices, laboratory areas, waiting areas and public restrooms. Must be able to use various cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, also will wipe equipment, clean furniture, polish/wax floors and vacuum carpets. Will be responsible to make beds and empty trash. Housekeepers are responsible for collecting dirty linen from all areas and distribute the clean linen and supplies to each appropriate floor or area. Must use appropriate PPE for all assigned tasks. Employees must wear slip resistant shoes during scheduled shift. Follow instructions from Manager and lead Housekeepers within job scope. Housekeeps will be trained in all areas of environmental services and departments.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • On-the-job training, provided.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of hospital cleaning protocol, required.
  • Be able to work in a physically demanding job and have the ability to follow instructions, required.
