Anthology Events is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as an Event Captain. In this role, you will take charge of supervising staff and overseeing the seamless execution of operations. With a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service, you will ensure that large-scale events are executed flawlessly.


As an Event Captain, effective communication with multiple teams is essential. You will be responsible for coordinating and communicating with various individuals to ensure the smooth flow of operations. Your ability to multitask and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously will be crucial, as you may find yourself setting up tables before an event, addressing customer requests, preparing upcoming events, communicating with staff, and overseeing post-event cleanup services.

Additional duties include but are not limited to:


  • Occasionally assisting or stepping into the role of a banquet server or bartender.

  • Coordination food and beverage orders by working closely with kitchen and floor staff.

  • Enforcing health and safety guidelines.

  • Fully understand the standards of service, and are committed to teaching/expressing these standards.

  • Experience and expertise in fine dining service styles including set-up and breakdown.

  • Polished presentation and communication with VIP clients and management.

  • Experienced server trainer with methodical training standards.

  • Understands how to read and articulate BEOs.

  • Advanced food/ beverage experience.

  • Prior leadership experience.

  • Full-time flexible availability.

  • Understand how to navigate the property.

  • Navigate staff, coordinate vendor load-in and setup.

  • Full knowledge of event operations, menu, policies, proper food handling/safety.

  • Problem- solvers with the ability to manage a small team in the absence of a manager.

  • Attend and participate in captain meetings.

  • Assist management in the creation and updating of opening, closing, cleaning list.

  • Expedite food during the event.

  • Create a detailed “Pull and Polish” list prior to events.

  • Gathering guest feedback, and relaying all relevant information to management.

  • Full event-close procedures, as well securing facility.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Event Server or Captain in a hotel or banquet setting.

  • Exceptional customer service skills.

  • Maintain high energy throughout events amongst clients and staff.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods of time.

  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

  • Willingness to work long hours when necessary.
