Billing Specialist

Our client, a Construction Service Company in Noblesville, IN, is looking for a Billing Specialist. The owner needs a top-notch person to help her manage their growing business. Our client''s vision is that you will initially support Billing, AR and Collections and eventually gain the experience and knowledge to assume more accounting responsibilities. The owner is Hispanic and has several Hispanic workers and clients, so if you understand and can work in Spanish it is helpful but not required.

 

 

This is an evaluation, contract-to-hire, paying $20.00+ per hour, depending on experience.

Responsibilities: As a Billing Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes. Your tasks will include:

1. Invoice Generation:
• Create and submit client invoices based on project requirements.
• Compile necessary backup documentation to support billing.
• Revise invoices as needed with management approval.
2. Collaboration:
• Work closely with Operations and General Managers to understand ongoing construction projects and financial needs.
• Troubleshoot billing errors to maintain accuracy.
• Liaise with appropriate managers and project leads to resolve issues.
3. AR Collections:
• Manage accounts receivable for billings.
• Follow up with clients, research issues, and participate in weekly meetings.
4. Financial Tracking:
• Assist with trackers and maintain accurate billing records.
• Support month-end close processes, including WIP reporting and vendor follow-up.
5. Expense Review:
• Review and approve/deny expenses and cost accounts.
6. Subcontractor Compliance:
• Review subcontractor documentation to ensure adherence to company policies and insurance requirements.

Qualifications for the Billing Specialist:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years or more of high-volume billing and accounts receivable proficiency.
• Previous experience in architecture and engineering/construction billing, job costing, and/or service provider accounting is required.
• Buildertrend experience is a plus.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with QuickBooks Online Advanced Contractor edition is a plus.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
