POSITION DESCRIPTION

The City presents an exciting opportunity for an Economic Development Coordinator to plan, develop, organize, manage, and evaluate economic development activities within the City.  The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, relationship builder, project manager, and critical thinker.  

 

What will you do in this position? 

  • Work closely with business owners, property managers, and others to facilitate business recruitment, retention, and expansion; facilitate other city services in support of development and redevelopment projects. 

  • Provide staff leadership to and participate in various economic development boards, chambers, and commissions. 

  • Responsible for project management of the City?s Pop Shops and other economic development programs.  

  • Project manager for the City?s Economic Vitality Initiative, which is defined by the , Economic Vitality focus area.  

 

A successful candidate in this position will: 

  • Be a strong communicator, engaging meaningfully with individuals from all backgrounds and points of view, and collaborating effectively.

  • Proactively build partnerships with community, business, and professional groups. 

  • Be a critical thinker to prepare data relevant to the City?s economic development and use the data to help inform the economic development activities.
