Robert Half is searching for a GIS Analyst for a PRIMARILY REMOTE position based in Spokane, Washington. This position is a long-term contract. This candidate must live in the Washington State Area and would be expected to travel to Spokane for training and once a quarter.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week (core business hours with some flexibility)
Duration: 1-year contract with potential for extension
Job Description:
- Creates, updates, formats, digitizes and validates data submissions which include the geospatial database, data tracking, sourcing, transferring, indexing and archiving with accuracy and completeness.
- Locates, compiles, organizes and modifies data.
- Prepares maps, sections and presentation materials using GIS products.
- Ensures that proper quality and control standards are met, undertaking QA/QC reporting, working with quality teams to mitigate errors and problems.
- Networks with external GIS and Database Communities, attends appropriate conferences & seminars as recommended by supervisor, to stay abreast of new technologies in GIS and database utilization in the Exploration business.
- Assists with other data assignments and technical support as needed.
- Continuously monitors various risk factors associated with project execution and takes appropriate corrective action as required.
- Utilizes SMART tools & techniques; proactively identifies community issues/opportunities and seeks involvement of community specialist as appropriate
- At least 2 years of relevant GIS experience.
- Understanding of AutoCAD products and how to upload it to ArcGIS.
- Proficient with ArcGIS Pro.
- Good foundation with Excel (handling large datasets - multiple datasets, multiple projections and bring them into one map).
- Proficient with O365: Word, Outlook, etc.
- Experience with maps, figures, analyzing GIS data (no engineering drawings, but may have to interpret them).
