Our client is innovating water electrolysis technology for the large-scale production of green hydrogen. Its industry-leading solution achieves both the lowest upfront capital costs and ongoing operating expenses, for the industry’s lowest levelized cost of hydrogen. They operate the laboratory and highly-automated commercial pilot plants in Moss Landing, California to continue to advance its cutting-edge technology.
The role:
Reporting to the SVP, Product Management and Marketing, the Director of Product Management will lead the strategic development and execution of our product portfolio, focusing on electrolyzers for green hydrogen production. You will be critical in shaping our product offerings to meet diverse operational needs and market demands. Proven experience in product management; must have experience in the hydrogen (AWE or PEM) or fuel cell industry.

The role:

You will be critical in shaping our product offerings to meet diverse operational needs and market demands. Proven experience in product management; must have experience in the hydrogen (AWE or PEM) or fuel cell industry.
Responsibilities:
- Roadmaps: Develop and manage product roadmaps, focusing on electrolyzers optimized for different operational efficiencies. Formulate product configurations for various use cases, including constant and variable operations. Create comprehensive cost roadmaps for electrolyzers and balance of plant. Drive execution of customer-facing and internal product roadmaps to ensure Verdagy is well-positioned to win in the market. Continue to improve product roadmaps through continual.
- Product Value proposition: Develop a unique value proposition for each vertical and focus on developing proof points for values. Develop case studies with each of the customer engagements. Own product positioning, pricing, and value propositions for Verdagy’s key applications and verticals.
- Stage Gate Process Expertise: Execute the New Product Introduction process to ensure the smooth, timely execution of Verdagy’s first commercial deployments. Oversee the product development lifecycle using stage gate processes to ensure effective progression from concept to launch.
- Service Models: Develop and own service support models, along with cost models, pricing, and packaging of service offerings of the electrolyzers.
- Product Releases: Lead and coordinate product release cycles, ensuring timely and efficient market introduction.
- Voice of the Customer: Gather and integrate customer feedback into product development, ensuring products meet market needs and expectations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure cohesive product strategies and execution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product strategy with company objectives.
- Market Trend Analysis: Continuously analyze market trends and competitor strategies to inform product innovation and positioning—customer engagement, sales, product development, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain teams.
- Sales Enablement: Oversee the development of professional and comprehensive customer proposals and associated documentation. Manage product specifications in diverse formats and develop a price calculator tool. Conduct techno-economic modeling to assist in customer decision-making and investment optimization.
Requirements:
Must be hardworking and thrive in the fast pace of a rapidly growing company. In addition, the Director of Product Management must possess:
- A Master’s degree or Ph.D. in chemical engineering and an MBA or equivalent are a plus.
- 7-12 years experience in product management, marketing, materials management, or related experience.
- Proven experience in product management; must have experience in the hydrogen (AWE or PEM) or fuel cell industry.
- Strong skills in strategic planning, market analysis, and customer engagement.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
