Summary

Qualified individual will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in manufacturing environment.

Tasks

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Must be personally responsible and committed to the quality of one's own work.
  • Must be able to work above production standards.
  • Must be able to bend and install rigid conduit
  • Must be able to set up and pull wire and cable
  • Must be able to terminate power, control, and instrumentation wire and cable
  • Must be able to install electrical gear, equipment, and devices
  • Must be able to install and troubleshoot PLC's
  • Must be able to install and troubleshoot AC and DC Drives
  • Must be able to trouble shoot prox & limit switches
  • Must be able to trouble shoot oven controllers
  • Must be able to trouble shoot Cab wiring harness issues
  • Must have knowledgeable of single and three phase motors and motor control systems
  • Must be capable of reading/comprehending tape measure, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, work orders, instructions.
  • Journeyman Industrial Electrician must have knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) and OSHA safety standards
  • Operate, maintain, and work in close proximity to various power equipment, including, but not limited to, forklifts, man-lifts, excavators, drills, saws, hydraulic tools and automatic machinery
  • Insure accuracy in maintaining production records such as quantities and types produced. (Example: travelers, timecards). Must be able to check parts to Quality Control Documents.
  • Must participate in all required training programs to maintain skill levels for continuous improvement. Must successfully complete training program.
  • Must be able to operate required powered industrial vehicle within the guidelines of the McLaughlin Body Powered Industrial Vehicle Program.
  • Must be able to maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and comply with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Must wear and maintain the required protective clothing and equipment including: safety glasses, steel toe safety shoes, and hearing protection.

Skills

Physical Requirements

  • Must be capable of occasional horizontal lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be capable of frequent horizontal lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be capable of occasional floor to waist lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of occasional waist to crown lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Work schedule may be over 8 hours a day.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, kneel, and walk up/down stairs on regular basis
  • Must be able to climb up and down ladders up to 20 feet high repeatedly on a shift
  • Must be able work/operate from various heights via platforms, scaffolds, ladders, or man-lifts.
  • May be required to work overhead.
  • Must be able to work during hot or cold temperatures. Summer time temperatures can reach or exceed 100 degrees.

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
  • Must have a journeyman's card or 6 years proven/documented hours of training and experience.
