JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a FT position consisting of Day and Evening shifts. Treatment Nurse passes medications and oversees care for 20 Intermediate Swing Bed patients during their shifts.


  1. Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
  2. Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
  3. Periodically review the department's policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc. Make recommendations for revisions.
  4. Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shifts' services.
  5. Ensure that the Nursing Service Procedures Manual is current and reflects the day-to-day nursing procedures performed in this facility.
  6. Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the procedures set forth in the Nursing Service Procedures Manual.
  7. Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
  8. Cooperate with the other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident's total regimen of care is maintained.
  9. Ensure that all nursing service personnel are in compliance with their respective job descriptions.
  10. Participate in the maintenance and implementation of the facility's quality assurance program for the nursing service department.
  11. Participate in facility surveys/inspections made by authorized government agencies as may be requested.
  12. Periodically review the resident's written discharge plan. Participate in updating the resident's written discharge plan as required.
  13. Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the resident's written discharge plan as necessary.
  14. Interpret the department's policies and procedures to personnel, resident's, visitors and government agencies as required.
  15. Admit, transfer and discharge resident's as required.
  16. Write resident's charge slips and forward to the Business Office.
  17. Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc. as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Provider CPR required, ACLS required or able to obtain, and current Montana state license as a registered nurse required, may work under temporary Montana state license as a registered nurse as defined in the Montana Board of Nursing rules and regulations.

SCHEDULE
Wage rate also dependent upon experience and education. LPN starting $22.90. RN starting$32.78
