Drafter/Designer - Renewables

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV.

ECI is seeking a motivated individual to join our Portland, OR office (physically located in Tigard, OR) as a drafter/designer. This position will encompass a variety of design and drafting tasks supporting renewable energy system designs for wind, solar, and battery storage projects. This includes design of underground power cable, routing, development of system plans, grounding details, conduit details, preparation of bill of materials as well as electric schematics and study support based on guidance from the project engineer.

Minimum Requirements: An accredited associate degree in drafting technology or equivalent required; Civil 3D CADD experience (AutoCAD MAP) and GIS experience is beneficial but not required. Proven effective verbal and written communication skills; proven excellent level of interpersonal skills; ability to work individually and on a team. Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills. Proven ability to work with confidential information. Proven ability to exercise independent judgment. The successful applicant may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving will be required.
