Bus/Van Driver

1. Provides transportation to the general public up to five days a week, for meals, work, medical, school, social events and other activities requested.
2. Performs technical duties of driving a bus and/or van and assisting passengers.
3. Requires patience and a pleasant demeanor.
4. May drive in adverse weather and road conditions.
5. May have long days for special trips.
6. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
7. Assist passengers on and off, which could be to push/pull a wheelchair
8. Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicles and reports any problems to manager
9. Collect fares and make sure money is secured.

1. This position requires a knowledge of operation and maintenance of buses
2. Knowledge of first aid/CPR
3. Knowledge of assisting non-ambulatory persons
4. Knowledge of highway and safety regulations.
5. Ability to be an alert driver.
6. Have a pleasant personality
7. Assist non-ambulatory adults
8. climb stairs, carry packages
9. Be dependable, communicate effectively orally and in writing
10. Follow verbal and written instructions
11. Establish working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, and the public
12. Maintain a good driving record

Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or a GED preferred
2. Experience driving and maintaining a bus preferred.
3. Experience in dealing with and assisting elderly or handicapped persons helpful.
4. Must possess or be able to acquire a CPR and First Aid card.
5. Must possess valid state of Montana drivers license.
6. Must have acceptable driving and criminal record.
