Summary

Must Love Fun! Every summer Mary Johnson Children’s Center hiresfull-time summer staffto work at our in-town center to help cover staff vacations.Work with a team on overall classroom management, indoor and outdoor play and activities.Applicants must possess the ability to actively engage and support them in a variety of activities. Our classrooms are busy and require energy, a positive attitude and a sense of adventure.Approximately June 14- August 22, 2024.

Mary Johnson Children's Center Programs support the importance of learning through play; programs evolve depending on the interests of children, teachers, and families. We believe that all families are the experts on their children and want what is best for them. We value experience in early childhood education along with a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of young children, energy and enthusiasm.

Duties

Responsibilities:
Assisting classroom teachers with children aged 2 to 5 years.
Interacting with children during play inside and outside
Keeping children safe
Giving children learning opportunities
Modeling appropriate and respectful behavior
Reading to children
Helping children to fall asleep at naptime
Eating meals with children, preparing snacks
Taking instruction from senior teachers
Cleaning up classroom as needed
Updating families on their child’s day

Requirements

Experience with children is required. Enjoyment of and interest in working with young children. Strong sense of responsibility and ability to supervise children in teacher’s absence. Our classrooms are busy and require both energy and a positive attitude.
