About this Position
Pinyon is looking for a Grant Coordinator to provide services for all phases of grants on an as-needed basis. The role of this position is to track and evaluate funding sources, identify, and understand grant eligibility requirements, provide strategic outreach to key clients (internal and external) regarding grant opportunities, prepare and submit grant applications, and provide administrative expertise to clients if grants are awarded. Desired applicants would have experience with grants relating to environment, transportation, water resources, resilience, information technology, brownfields, and more across all of Pinyon's market sectors and geographies. Strong interpersonal skills are required, and tasks and requests may come with tight deadlines. This position works primarily in coordination with Pinyon's Strategic Implementation Team and will provide support to Pinyon's Project Delivery and Marketing teams.

In addition, this position may also be requested to provide support to our marketing team with preparation of Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), and Requests for Proposal (RFPs), as well as preparing staff resumes, project descriptions, and other documents in support of proposals.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Researching, tracking, and identifying grant opportunities relating to environment, transportation, water resources, resilience, information technology, brownfields and more for clients across Pinyon's market sectors.
  • Understanding of existing funding sources (federal, state, local) and knowledge of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
  • Preparing grant applications, including:
    • Analyzing funding opportunity announcements/solicitation to determine requirements for the application.
    • Creating schedules and establishing deadlines for grant completion (including reviews).
    • Assisting with task delegation with various stakeholders and facilitating collaboration between grant application partners to successfully complete and submit grant applications.
    • Attending and summarizing important agency meetings related to the grant, as well as organizing and leading stakeholder meetings.
    • Writing, and collaborating with internal technical experts, to develop grant application sections.
    • Reviewing grant applications and ensuring all guidelines and requirements are met.
    • Assembling and submitting the final grant application.
  • Providing grant administrative support for awarded grants, including training and audit support.
  • Preparing scopes and fees for grant writing services.









Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, or a relevant field.
  • 3-10 years of experience in all phases of the grant process (e.g., researching and tracking, writing, applying, and administration).
  • Must be able to identify and understand grant eligibility requirements, provide strategic outreach to key clients regarding grant opportunities, and track funding sources.
  • Experience with online grant application systems.
  • Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is required.
  • Strong writing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to create original material.
  • Effective communication (both written and verbal) is required.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills - must be able to collaborate with a variety of internal and external clients.
  • Previous experience in the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction (AEC) industry preferred, but not required.
