Volt has an immediate opening in Brisbane/SF for an Operations Supervisor.
The Operations Supervisor will assist in the daily operation of a transfer station.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Assigns employee's to balance workload and directs the workflow of equipment operators, sorters, spotters and laborers and assists with preparation of daily schedules and payroll time records. and effective operations. identify all potential rule infractions, submitting information to Operations Manager, assisting In the a ordnance and correction of existing cases.
-Resolves customer service problems and responds to complaints of unsatisfactory service, if any.
-Enforces safety policies and procedures.
-Assists with the daily inspection and follow through of proper maintenance and repair of equipment.
-Follows All Compliance for site and meets State Standards
-Coordinates pickup of recyclables from area locations and bins.
-Coordinates with local regulatory officials and Fire Department Inspections.
-Assists with training and evaluation of site personnel.
-Abides by Company policies and procedures; Follows all state and local regulations.
-Develops strategies to effectively manage current and future challenges and opportunities; develops recommendations and actionable plans.
-Communicates well both verbally and in writing; listens to and understands various viewpoints; shares relevant information timely; provides constructive feedback; maintains professionalism.
-Directs the work of a work unit of 50 or more subordinates.
-Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
-Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
-Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-Three years in the resource recovery industry (waste/recycling /organics processing), transportation, production or logistics operations including supervisory experience.
-Principles of personnel training, supervision and evaluation.
-Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting.
-Computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications and using data to inform and set priorities and identify challenges/opportunities.
-High School / GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
-Valid Driver’s License
SALARY:
$30-$35/hour
Work Hours: M-F 10:30am - 7:30pm
