Job DescriptionCompany Description
Position: The Welder/Fabricator operates under moderate supervision and is responsible for the design, welding, and fabrication of metal parts and components. This role involves performing quality checks, making basic adjustments to welding equipment, and proficiency in print reading.
Schedule:
- 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work effectively under moderate supervision.
- Execute MIG and TIG weld techniques proficiently.
- Demonstrate proficiency in preparing welding surfaces.
- Design, weld, and fabricate routine and occasionally complex metal parts and components.
- Perform fit-up and assembly tasks under moderate supervision.
- Conduct in-process quality control checks independently or with support from co-workers and/or department leaders.
- Make basic adjustments to welding equipment as necessary.
- Interpret and comprehend prints and welding symbols accurately.
- Adhere strictly to all shop safety rules and regulations.
- Fulfill any other duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 2+ years of experience; completion of technical school preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain one (1) weld certification.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Required to stand constantly while working at workbenches, machinery, or operating equipment.
- Frequent bending forward at the waist, utilizing full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
- Frequently extending hands or arms in various directions.
- Frequently seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or working with the hands.
- Frequent use of fingers for tasks such as pinching or picking.
- Occasional assessment of object attributes through touch.
- Constant perception of sounds by ear.
- Consistent clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
- Frequent proximity to moving mechanical parts, leading to possible bodily injury.
- Regular exposure to mild to moderate noise levels from various equipment and machinery.
