ENTRY-LEVEL OFFICE ASSISTANT WITH BOOKKEEPING SKILLS
JOB DESCRIPTION
Keo & Associates is a General Contractor, Construction Manager and Design Build company located in Detroit, MI. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team in a hybrid office position that combines entry-level bookkeeping responsibilities with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in both bookkeeping and office administration.
Responsibilities:
1. Bookkeeping:
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records using accounting software.
- Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions.
- Prepare basic financial reports for review by senior staff.
2. Administrative Support:
- Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and greet visitors.
- Schedule appointments and meetings for staff members.
- Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing documents both electronically and in hard copy.
3. Data Entry:
- Enter financial data into spreadsheets or databases with precision and efficiency.
- Update and maintain databases with accurate information.
- Verify data accuracy and identify discrepancies when necessary.
4. General Support:
- Collaborate with colleagues to support various projects and initiatives.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, and distributing.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the office.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Accounting or related field is plus.
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities.
- Previous office or administrative experience is a plus, but not required.
