Job Description

The Sales Associate will be responsible for placing merchandise on sales floor, maintaining cleanliness and organization of front of store, and providing cashier and customer service.

It is the duty of the Sales Associate to hold to the mission, vision, and core values of The Foundry. The Associate must be willing to sign The Foundry’s Statement of Faith. The Associate reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for upholding the policies as set forth by the Board of Directors. The responsibilities of the Associate include, but are not limited to the duties defined in this responsibility description.

Responsibility Description:

  • Support management in daily store operations and ensure store procedures and protocol is followed by staff and program participants
  • Provide cashier and/or carry out services as scheduled
  • Maintain sales floor organization, stock, and cleanliness
  • Assist Shipping and Receiving Manager to unload, sort, and process donations
  • Work alongside program participants in a professional manner
  • Communicate issues and concerns regarding program participants to management
  • Maintain program participant confidentiality at all times

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency, or GED
  • Two (2) years’ retail and/or thrift store experience
  • Proven competencies in sales, products, and service

Requirements:

  • Valid state issued driver license and clean driving record
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and email
  • Must be trustworthy to handle high volumes of cash daily
  • Must be physically able to lift up to 30 pounds multiple times a day
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work rotating shift as needed
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to resolve issues in a calm and efficient manner
  • Servant leader; ability to manage multiple personnel in a professional manner
  • Quick learner and enjoys the challenge of taking on new assignments
  • Willingness to be a team player
