Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is self-motivated and takes pride in cleaning and maintaining floors. This person should excel both as a team player and an independent worker. The role of Second Shift (Night) Custodian Roamer involves flexible hours to meet the diverse needs of our various clients, including schools, daycares, churches, and nonprofit organizations, primarily in Nashville and downtown Franklin. Please note that this is not a traveling position, meaning you will not be expected to work at more than one client location per night. However, you may be assigned to a different campus every night depending on the needs.

Due to variables such as special cleaning requests or employee absences, there isn't a predetermined weekly hour count. Our supervisor will make diligent efforts to provide substantial advance notice of scheduling changes. Importantly, this position does not require you to be on-call, and compensation should not be expected during inactive periods.

We do expect your commitment to being available with reasonable notice. Failure to work without a valid explanation or consistent unavailability may result in the termination of the employment agreement. Your dedication and responsiveness are crucial to the success of this role.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine cleaning tasks including but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning, cafeteria maintenance, trash disposal, glass cleaning, and grounds cleanup.
  • Assist with event setup/cleanup, involving moving furniture and arranging assemblies.
  • Floor and carpet maintenance work is expected during school breaks.


Work Hours

Flexible hours, Monday through Friday, between 3:00 pm and 12:00 am. There's also an opportunity to work additional hours.


Compensation

  • $20 per hour plus
    Paid Time Off (PTO): proportionally accrued per year

Eligibility requires working 30+ hours per week consecutively for two months.



Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Minimum of two years of commercial cleaning or housekeeping experience
  • Floor maintenance experience is preferable (willingness to learn)
  • Must possess a driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to use a smartphone to clock in using online-based timesheets
  • Able to pass a fingerprint criminal background check required for working in schools with children present
  • All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States (E-verify checks)
  • Able to work in a smoke-free environment


Job Requirements

  • Pass the background check required to work in public schools (this role involves working at a MNPS Charter School, a background check clearance from Metro Public Schools office will be necessary)
  • Willingness to work at all client locations.
  • Physical capability for activities involving significant use of arms and legs, such as walking, bending, stretching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), pulling, and pushing
  • Responsible and customer service oriented
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
