Your expertise in these areas will be vital in ensuring our network's reliability, performance and security.This position reports toGlobal IS Manager, Network & Voice ServiceYour responsibilitiesDesign, configure and implement network solutions based on business requirements using Cisco Viptela, AWS networking, DNA Center, ThousandEyes, routing and switching technologiesCollaborate with cross functional teams to gather and translate network requirements into scalable and efficient network designsBuild, configure and troubleshoot network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and other network appliancesConduct network capacity planning, performance monitoring and optimization to ensure high availability and optimal network performanceImplement and maintain network security measures, including firewall configurations, access controls and intrusion detection systemsProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior network engineers and support teamsCollaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and technologiesConduct network audits and vulnerability assessments to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate remediation strategiesStay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in networking and securityYour backgroundBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field10 plus years of equivalent work experience will be consideredExtensive experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on designing, implementing and managing complex network infrastructureStrong proficiency in Cisco Viptela, AWS networking, DNA Center, ThousandEyes, routing and switching technologiesIn depth knowledge of network protocols, such as TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol), BGP, OSPF (Open Shortest Path First Routing Protocol), MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), VLANs (Virtual Local Area Network), VPNs (Virtual Private Network), and QoS (Quality of Service)Experience with network design and architecture, including high availability, scalability and disaster recovery planningSolid understanding of network security principles and best practicesFamiliarity with Infoblox or other IP address management (IPAM) solutionsProfessional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE or equivalent will be highly beneficialExcellent problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issuesStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlinesCandidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USBenefitsRetirement planLife insuranceDisability insuranceHealthcare planWellbeing programMore about usABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas&Betts),is the number one manufacturer of electrification products in North America with a 125-year history of providing innovation and customer- focused solutions for connecting and protecting electrical systems, as well as a unique differentiated medium voltage offering.
