We seek a Full-time, experienced, energetic, strong, and dedicated Occupational therapist to lead the exceptional nursing services delivered to our patients. As an Occupational Therapist at Mesun, you will be treated as a valuable healthcare team member.

Job Summary: Provide skilled therapy intervention and treatment to patients in the home setting. This care includes appropriate utilization of treatment plans and assessment skills. Carefully monitor the patient’s status and progress toward goals and compliance with physician orders. Responsible for educating patients and caregivers while preparing the patient/caregiver for discharge as appropriate.

Occupational Therapist Qualifications/Educational Requirements:

  • A person who Is licensed or otherwise regulated, if applicable, as an Occupational Therapist by the State in which practicing, unless licensure does not apply;
  • Graduated after successful completion of an Occupational Therapist education program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA), or successor organizations of ACOTE
  • Eligible to take or has completed the entry-level certification examination for Occupational Therapists developed and administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT).

Occupational Therapist Responsibilities/essential functions: The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Implement occupational therapy services by physician’s plan of treatment.
  • Assist the physician in evaluating and assessing the client’s level of
  • functioning by applying appropriate tests and assisting in developing and revising the care plan.
  • Treat the client through therapeutic activities designed to restore function and self-care activities to improve function.
  • Observe, record, and report the client’s reaction to treatment and any changes in the client’s condition to the physician, Clinical Manager, and Case Manager.
  • Educate the client/caregiver and health care team in the phases of occupational therapy. As appropriate, they may assist the client in using adaptive devices and durable medical equipment.
  • Provides staff in-service education as directed by the Clinical Manager.
  • Assess and regularly re-evaluate the client's needs, develop, implement, and revise the care plan.
  • Initiate diagnostic, preventive, and rehabilitative procedures as appropriate to the client’s care safety.
  • Assist with a plan of care and maintain continuity of multidisciplinary clients whenever needed to ensure good coordination of care.
  • Promote care coordination through interdisciplinary case conferences and communication with physicians and field staff.
  • Develop, prepare, and maintain individualized client care progress records with accuracy, timeliness, and according to policies. Submit accurate documentation per agency policies.
  • Keep abreast of occupational trends and knowledge for service provision, documentation, and care coordination.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service programs, and Utilization reviews.
  • Participate in the agency’s quality improvement program.
  • Supervise the Occupational Therapy Aide at least every 30 days.
