TITLE OF POSITION: Attendant Care Worker
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must complete a 40-hour basic training program provided by SEKMHC. Must pass KBI, DCF child & adult abuse registry, motor vehicle screen, and background checks. Must have reliable and insured transportation to transport clients as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and function in a crisis situation.
- Emotionally mature, sound judgment, and have a steady disposition.
- Must be able to relate to emotionally disturbed children.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of normal and abnormal human behavior.
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: Regular Full-Time Position
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Always provide one-on-one supervision of (accompany) youth in a location specified by a Qualified Mental Health Professional. Professional when providing Attendant Care or Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
- Participate in activities with youth while on duty.
- Be expected to engage in active listening and talking with the youth; you are not to provide counseling.
- Be required to maintain confidentiality regarding youth.
- Work only up to eight hours in a 24-hour period.
- Complete and submit required paperwork on a timely basis.
- Be expected to keep other staff informed of unusual situations regarding youth with which they are working.
- Review, understand, and adhere to the Discipline Policy, Quality Assurance, Ethical Standards, and other policies and procedures regarding Attendant Care.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or the Chief Executive Officer.

- Required Trainings:
Medicaid State Plan Non-Waiver Services (see www.kidstraining.org) include:
- Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST):
- CPST On-line: Complete within 60 days of hire.
- Interactive Community Event (ICE): Attend within 6 months of hire.
- CPST On-line: Complete within 60 days of hire.
- Targeted Case Management Online Training: Complete within 60 days of hire and prior to attending ICE training.
- Crisis Intervention (CI): Complete prior to delivery of service.
- CI Online Training
- Nationally Recognized CI Training (e.g., Mandt training, provided in- house).
Other In-house or Online Trainings as determined by your supervisor. Examples include:

- Corporate Compliance
- Cultural Competence, etc.
- Direct Service Expectations: This position has a minimum service credit expectation and will be provided by your supervisor.
