AmeriCorps Member Tutor

As an AmeriCorps Member Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting educational initiatives and making a positive impact on the lives of students. You will work closely with other program staff to provide educational support and promote student success. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the community.

Duties:
- Work directly with AmeriCorps Members ages 17-24 to obtain their HSED through tutoring each member's area(s) of need

- Provide individualized support to students in various subjects
- Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies
- Support students with special needs or learning disabilities
- Assist with organizing testing through Madison Area Technical College

-Provide transportation to testing at Madison Area Technical College, Portage campus
- Help create a positive learning environment

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of lesson planning techniques and curriculum development
- Experience working with secondary education
- Ability to educate and engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Excellent management skills
- Knowledge of special education strategies and accommodations
- Experience working with adult learners or providing adult education
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, and parents/guardians
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Position is year-round. Eligible for paid time off. Up to 10 hours per week, with the hours being flexible and variable between 8am-3pm Monday through Friday.
