The Payroll Specialist will support one of our biggest assets – team members. The primary responsibility of this role is to accurately and efficiently process payroll for over 1600 team members at 21 locations in MS, AL, and TN. The Payroll Specialist will also complete and file all payroll taxes and 401K reports as well as contributing to the overall success of the team by providing administrative support and delivering operational excellence to the organization.

Requirements:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees all payroll-related functions to ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries and benefits in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Analyzes, prepares, inputs payroll data
  • Prepares and enters garnishments and various deductions
  • Assists in preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with internal polices and external regulations
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
  • Process approved manual payroll checks request when necessary
  • Communicate with all contacts in a courteous and professional manner
  • Establish audit process to verify accuracy of payroll runs
  • Perform other duties as required


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional people skills are required to relate and influence at all company levels.
  • Ability to change priorities quickly and the capacity to handle multiple projects with strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong initiative to strive for continuous accuracy, quality, and timeliness of information.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration , Human Resources, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience preparing high volume payrolls
