Welder Level 3

Fabricate parts, fitting and welding using blueprints and completing assigned projects on a timely basis. Must be able to setup

and operate any wire feed weld machine, to fit products with high complexity, and to cut steel using an acetylene torch, plasma,

and air-arc-gouger. Must have knowledge and experience in pre-heat and post-heat practices that may affect location and

quality of parts and features.

Responsibilities

Performs daily functions as directed by jobs, supervisors and/or leads in a timely manner to maintain production output
standards set by the company.

Learn and apply new techniques to fabricate products specific to customer requirements.
Participates in welding and fabrication of a diverse range of complex custom weldments that must meet strict tolerances and welding quality standards.
Reads blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate and realize product dimensions and tolerances.
Keeps track of and maintains upkeep of company’s tools, equipment, tooling, and fixtures.
Responsible for performing strong penetrated welds without discontinuities and identifying or correcting discontinuities when they are present.
Achieves quality standards outlined by company, engineering prints, and customer requirements.
Inspects, cleans, cuts, burns, and prepares components for welding.
Responsible for measuring work pieces to determine accuracy utilizing measuring instruments such as tape measures,
squares, visual inspection, and other devices prior to moving to the next operation.

Handles materials safely while using proper rigging techniques and equipment such as forklifts, JIB cranes, and overhead cranes.
Operates power tools, hand tools, acetylene torch, air-arc-gouger, plasma cutter and any other tools as required for the fabrication process.
Responsible for reporting all labor performed and quantities produced through company’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work environment according to company policies and procedures.
Adheres to all safety standards in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
Follows company’s attendance policy regular, overtime, and weekend shifts.
Must be able to work scheduled shifts as well as overtime & weekends as required.
Identifies manufacturing problems as they arise, presents solutions to leads and supervisors, and acts on those solutions as directed.
Inspects sub-assemblies and final assemblies using measuring devices to ensure product conforms to specifications provided prior to moving to subsequent operations.
Provides guidance in fitting and welding to junior team members when requested by management and supervisors.
Requirements

5+ years’ experience in welding and fabrication field, preferred in welding heavy structural steel.
Must pass welder and fitting test.
Must be able to be certified in overhead crane and jib crane operation.
Must be able to pass AWS certification for Flux Core and Hardwire welding in all orientations.
Must be able to setup and operate any wire feed welding machine.
Can read and understand blueprints, drawings, and engineering information, including weld symbols.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Must pass a company forklift training course.
Must be able to read a tape measure utilize various types of squares.
Must have your own welding equipment such as hood, steel toed boots, weld gauges, hammers, chisels, clamps and MIG
welder pliers on the first day.

Required to provide own tools within first 90 days in accordance to positions equipment list (List to be provided during interview).
Must be able to understand verbal and written orders.
Knowledgeable in raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing on work related documents.
Physical Demands

This position requires accessing all areas in the plant necessary to develop the activity.
Regularly required to stand or sit and move around the facility.
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Ability to work in a plant environment with fluctuating temperatures.
Special vision requirements are needed to be able to see work pieces and welds unassisted or with the use of
glasses/contacts.

Education and Certification

High School diploma or GED.
Compensation

$ 22.00 - $25.00 per hour: depending on experience and skills.
