Aquatic Resource Restoration Company is an environmental construction company based in York, PA.  Our highly skilled and expert personnel provide a multitude of comprehensive stream, wetland and floodplain restoration services throughout the mid-Atlantic region, with a specialized focus on the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.  


Job Overview: 

ARRC is currently seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor for our growing site team. Duties include performing topography, construction stakeout, as built and control surveys using both conventional and GPS methods. A successful candidate must be self-motivated, organized and technology oriented. The candidate must be able to follow proper procedures, perform accurate calculations and work in a team environment. The Construction Surveyor will report directly to the VP of Operations.  


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Stakeouts all aspects of site projects
  • Supports site crew and GPS systems
  • Performs As-builts
  • Performs office computations for stakeout
  • Performs topographic surveying for the design department
  • Follows all OSHA, MSHA and site-specific safety requirements
  • Effectively communicates with other team members
  • Performs other related duties as required


Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Proficiency with both GPS and conventional robotic systems (experience with Trimble equipment a plus)
  • Proficiency using a conventional laser lever foresight/backsight
  • Strong technical skills, attention to detail and knowledge of construction drawings (building and site)
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking or standing on various terrain in a wide range of weather conditions
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and meet necessary deadlines
  • Valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation 
  • Must follow all company rules, regulations, policies, guidelines, etc.
  • Must have strong writing and communication skills
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
  • Performs basic computer skills utilizing Microsoft office and various software tools (Trimble Business center a plus)
  • Performs takeoffs and plan measurements, quantity takeoffs
  • Experience in stream, wetland and floodplain restoration construction is a plus
  • 1-3 years of experience as a construction layout surveying with a strong focus on quality
