Payroll/ Benefits Administrator

Telrite Holdings is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll/ Benefits Administrator to join our team. The Payroll/ Benefits Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees as well as managing and administering our employee benefits programs. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent mathematical skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive employee information. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our employees understand and maximize the benefits offered, while also ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and reconcile payroll data, including employee information, wages, deductions, and taxes.
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist in financial audits.
  • Accurately calculate and withhold garnishment amounts from employee wages and ensure timely remittance to appropriate entities.
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
  • Proficiently in generate and distribute W-2 statements to employees in compliance with IRS regulations and deadlines.
  • Administer and maintain employee records related to payroll, including changes in salaries, deductions, and personal information.
  • Coordinate open enrollment periods, including organizing informational sessions, distributing materials, and assisting employees with plan selections.
  • Administer ongoing LOA/FMLA/STD/LTD/ADA request to include state programs where applicable.
  • Monthly bill reconciliation of all vendor invoices
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and provide guidance on benefit options, eligibility requirements, coverage details, and claims procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits of benefit plans, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
  • Prepare reports and analyze benefit data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Familiarity with applicable federal and state laws, such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA and OSHA 300, pertaining to employee benefits.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Payroll/ Benefits or similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.
  • Proficient in using ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing, including data entry, report generation, and employee record management.
  • In-depth understanding of California wage and hour laws, including overtime, meal and rest break regulations, and wage deductions.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll and knowledge of state-specific payroll regulations is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
