This is a hybrid position.

Northeast Family Services is seeking an experienced masters-level professional to join our growing New York team as a Bilingual Intake Screener and Authorization Specialist!

The Bilingual Intake Specialist (English / Spanish) manages all aspects of the registration and admissions process for Northeast Family Services in New York. They are responsible for completing the full intake and screening process for all new clients and completing plan reviews for existing clients. Intake paperwork and required clinical documentation includes comprehensive assessments, screening assessments and initial treatment plans.

To be successful in the Intake Screener and Authorization Specialist position, you should be highly organized, be detail oriented, have a working knowledge of administering various assessments screening tools and have prior experience working with children and families. Top candidates will also have excellent interpersonal skills and work well as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes program directors, clinicians, nurse practitioners, and peers.

This is a hybrid position.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social work, Counseling, or directly related human services field is required for this role
  • NY state License (LCSW, LMHC, etc.,) or Limited Permit in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling is required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children and families
  • Bilingual in English / Spanish is required
  • Experience reviewing comprehensive assessments and treatment plans
  • Working knowledge of insurance benefits and authorizations
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Office and Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Experience working with and helping clients/families with complex behavioral health needs
  • Ability to keep client and company confidences
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Hours:

  • Fee for Service - $60 - $75 per hour
