Accounts Payable Clerk

Robert Half has a great opportunity available for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk with an organization that offers an appealing company culture among highly skilled professionals. In this position, you will be required to manage all general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. You will work closely and report to the Accounting Manager. Matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are integral functions for this position. Located in Galveston, Texas, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary opening.

What you get to do every day

- Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed

- Provide administrative assistance to the AP/Finance Department

- Validate, record and send checks, including expediting special handling

- Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

- Complete full-cycle A/P

- Open, sort, and deliver department mail on a daily basis

- Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners

- Organize, register, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

- Complete special projects on an as-needed basis- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

- Enter Vendor Invoices experience

- Deep understanding of Coding Invoices

- Data entry experience

- Accounts Payable (AP) experience

- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
