Position Summary:The Manager Data Engineer Data & Analytics will serve as the Technical Product Owner for the MedTech Supply Chain business for all data engineering work as in support of the Common Data Layer. They will ensure the appropriate application of various methods to transform raw data into useful information for consumption by various groups and downstream systems. They will grow and optimize J&J Supply Chain data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimize data flow and collection for multi-functional teams. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The successful individual will be motivated by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support the next generation of products and data initiatives. They will help craft and influence the data strategy that will best support the business data needs and identify the appropriate data & information required to achieve the desired business outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Be responsible for the vision and prioritization of new features and/or enhancements to the CDL MT curation product and help translate business needs into prioritized user stories; accountable for value delivery and value realization at the squad levelShape and prioritize backlog, utilizing business expertise and understanding of customer needs, translate requirements into user stories & acceptance criteriaBalance business value with technical feasibility while prioritizing stories and features, optimizing cost and improving delivery efficiencyAct as the “voice of the customer” within the squad to ensure the squad “builds the right thing”Accountable for shaping and hitting squad objectives and key resultsDrive continuous improvement across the product lifecycleFacilitate release planning, sprint planning and demos with partnersOwn and facilitate documentation and informationCollaborate to ensure all partners are clear on product roadmap activities, design, interdependencies and timelinesQualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experienceExperience and Skills:Required: Proven team leadership experience in Information TechnologyExperienced in managing a product backlog/release plan, tracking team level metrics, attending product team ceremonies, removing blockersExperience in or knowledge of Data Engineering/ETL practices and related languanges/technologiesStrong problem-solving skills with ability of accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.Knowledge of public cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, and/or GCPStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to collect, understand and convey customer requirementsPreferred:Experience working with the Microsoft AzureKnowledge of Databricks platformExperience with High Performing TeamsKnowledge of CI/CD software development practicesOther:Excellent written and oral communication skillsUp to 10% domestic and international travelSalaryFor US based candidates, the base pay range for this position is $144,500 USD to $195,500 USD. BonusThe Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year.
