Prepress Assistant - Full-time / Part-time

Quad Waukee is looking for a Prepress Assistant. The purpose of this job is to image, punch and bend offset plates for the press and help maintain platemaking equipment.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain and operate plate-making equipment.
• Troubleshooting equipment and process.
• Ability to learn workflows and procedures for the assigned area. 
• Checking product for quality.
• Work schedules necessary to meet the production needs of our customers.
• Basic working knowledge of computers
• Ability to learn Press Layout configurations 
• Communicating information between shifts. 

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred
• Previous pre-press experience preferred but not required
• Moderate knowledge of PC operating systems. Experience with Kodak Prinergy is a plus
• Strong communication skills 
• Ability to work with colleagues of diverse backgrounds.
• Willingness to work overtime as required, as well as weekends.

Physical Demands

            This position is moderately physically demanding.  The employee is at times standing while performing the duties of the position.  Walking, bending, stooping, twisting and turning on a daily basis.  Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
