Lead Warehouse Associate

Descriptive Summary

The Lead Warehouse Technician is responsible for specialized warehouse tasks in loading, unloading, order pulling, shipping, returns, forklift, fabrication, and counter, or may have a generalized role working in all departments.

Essential Functions

• Complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, fabrication, and transportation of goods.
• Load and unload materials to and from the designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles. Stack or pile materials, such as lumber, boards, or pallets.
• Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Verify computations against the physical count of stock.
• Maintains condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in the correct location, etc.).
• Follows company safety policies and procedures and encourages other associates to do the same.
• Follows company safety policies and procedures.
• Receive and fill orders or sell supplies, materials, and products to installers and subcontractors.
• May drive the truck to pick up incoming stock or deliver materials to designated locations or operate forklift or other machinery to complete tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Self-directed; willing and able to work autonomously while seeking help when needed.
• Personal leadership; previous supervisory/management experience a plus
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Willing and able to manage multiple conflicting demands.
• Strong organizational skill
• Good interpersonal skills.
• frequently required to stand, walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.
