Job Title: Assembly Technician

Shift: Multiple 2nd Shift Options Available: 2pm-10pm or 4pm-2am, 8 and 10 Hour Shifts

This position performs repetitive line assembly to mass-produce automotive steering columns and/or sub-assemblies following written and/or verbal specifications by performing the duties shown below. This is an hourly non-exempt position with a starting pay of $17/hr and top out over $23/hr.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows written process and process related work instructions for which they have been trained and authorized to perform.

• Works at different work stations as production needs require shifts from one process to another to maintain line efficiency and reduce fatigue factor.

• Performs product quality checks and records results per quality system documents.

• Performs appropriate housekeeping and preventative maintenance as assigned.

• Examines material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and incomplete welds.

• Rejects defective parts, and marks type of defect on part, container of parts, or inspection tag.

• Adheres to all Health and Safety guidelines as well as all other NSK STEERING SYSTEMS AMERICA, Inc. policies.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, but not required; manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
