We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity in the manufacturing industry based in Montague, Michigan. This role involves a hybrid work schedule and primarily focuses on the function of an Accounting Assistant.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct audit support activities to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Handle Accounts Receivable documentation to track and manage incoming payments.
• Issue credit memos to correct errors in customer billing.
• Store and validate W-9 forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
• Manage customer sales tax documentation to maintain accurate financial records.
• Conduct data analysis to inform financial decisions.
• Utilize accounting software systems to streamline financial operations.
• Operate Microsoft Excel and other Office Suites to manage and present financial data.
• Oversee accounting functions to maintain financial efficiency.
• Manage billing functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Monitor and report on cash activity to ensure financial stability.• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC)
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites
• Understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Billing Functions
• Experience in handling Cash Activity
• Knowledge of manufacturing industry is preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus
