Development/Construction Staff Accountant/Analyst

Our client has a permanent opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Development/Construction Staff Accountant/Analyst to join their team. This role plays a part in the production of financial statements, cash flow projections, budgets, pay applications and related functions. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Suwanee, Georgia area, at a company where effort is rewarded.

Responsibilities include:

Work with the Controller to complete the month end, quarter end and year end closing process with minimal supervision

Journal entries

Budgets

Construction pay applications

Verify, process and confirm accuracy

Change orders (identify and track)

Revised schedule of values

Assist with underwriting investment opportunities

Review and analyze financial data, banking/lender requirements

Communicate findings effectively

Responsible for fixed asset ledgers, depreciation and reconciliation

Prepare general ledger account reconciliations

Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements

Contribute to the internal controls and procedures ensuring GAAP compliance

Maintain thorough and organized records

Communicate with outside investors regularly

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting

Experience with the following:

Financial statement preparation and review

General ledger

Budgeting

Pay application processing/analysis

Real Estate accounting

2+ years of recent and relevant accounting

Sage and Microsoft Access software preferred

Ability to meet deadlines

Distinguished analytical and social skills

Excellent attention to detail

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Professional communication skills
