Irrigation Pump Technician

Location: Prosser, WA

Job Title: Irrigation Pump Technician for Sunheaven Farms, LLC

Company Overview:

Established in 1976 Sunheaven Farms has been an expense sharing venture serving five family farms in the Horse Heaven Hills region of south-central Washington State. The farm produces crops under center-pivot irrigation that includes onions, grass seed, sugar beets, and various other row crops.

Work Environment:

Most work is conducted outdoors or in a large shop environment. This position requires the ability to work alone unsupervised and work as a team depending on the job being performed.

Roll Summary:

 The Irrigation Pump Technician installs, dismantles, cleans, inspects, repairs and maintains pumps and pump equipment associated with the operation of the Sunheaven Farms center-pivot irrigation system.

Responsibilities:

·       Installation and removal of irrigation pumps and pumping equipment.

·       Maintains, trouble shoots, diagnoses, and repairs all pumps and pumping equipment.

·       Use measuring tools and hand tools required to complete installation, removal, and maintenance of all pumps and pumping equipment.

·       Fabricate and repair parts and equipment as needed.

·       Keeping work area, pump stations, and surrounding areas clean and organized at all times.

·        Have a positive attitude that contributes to teambuilding, decision making, problem solving and continuous improvements.

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements:

·       Pump installation and repair and maintenance experience.

·       Must be able to read, understand, and follow directions.

·       Ability to lift a minimum of 75 Lbs.

·       Skilled in using measuring and hand tools.

·       Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required on short notice.

·       Must have full range of movement to reach, work with hands and arms in various positions, stoop, and move under and around equipment.

·       Must speak and communicate clearly, read with understanding, and have good written communication.

·       Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

·       Willing to work independently and in a team environment.

·       Ability to accept and follow instructions from supervisors.

Pay and Company Benefits:

The qualified candidate will be compensated with a competitive hourly wage, paid holidays, vacation and sick pay, health, dental and vision plans, and a 401K with 4% match.
