Position Title: Shampooer Department: Housekeeping

Reports To: Director of Housekeeping Non-Exempt Position

Essential Functions:

The Shampooer has overall responsibility for shampooing and treating carpets throughout the hotel as assigned to them by the office coordinator/management. Incumbent must utilize available resources to provide excellent guest satisfaction. The shampooer will meet or exceed productivity standards, taking corrective action as needed to ensure standards are maintained

Attendance and AvailabilityOpen and flexible availability to work as needed due to the changes in business volumes. This position will require availability to work weekends and holidays.Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Thoroughly clean all assigned rooms within prescribed standards guidelines.

Maintain the inventory, organization and cleanliness of assigned shampooing machines and devices.

Continually communicate status of shampooed rooms to the housekeeping coordinator/supervisor throughout completion of daily assignment sheet.

Report any ‘lost and found’ items to the housekeeping supervisor/coordinator. Immediately, list the room number or area where it was found.

Report any damaged or missing items or maintenance and repair needs to the housekeeping supervisor/coordinator.

Assist guest with questions or requests.

Physical Demands

Frequent need to perform the following physical activities: Reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, pulling, standing, walking, and lifting/carrying up to 5lbs. Need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms” reach. Ability to converse with staff and the ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.

Occasional need to perform the following physical activities: climbing stairs, lifting, pushing or reaching above shoulders, kneeling, and lifting/carrying 15lbs.
