Job Summary:
The Inventory and Purchasing Associate is responsible for the purchasing of equipment, materials, and supplies for all operational needs. Responsible for the fiscal inventory in eLations and its’ disposition.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Review and apply inventory activities, including movements and deletions using the Company’s inventory management system
- Maintain and update inventory records and schedules
- Develop and implement efficient inventory management procedures
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Ensure timely delivery of stock/inventory as needed and requested by management
- Implement a loss prevention program
- Report any stock issues to management and place product orders as necessary
- Prepare a list of depleted products and a survey of unusable products
- Receive and stock inventory upon receipt
- Replenish inventory as required to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Gather purchase requests from management and place orders as necessary.
- Research price quotes
- Make suggestions for new vendors and cost savings
- Create purchase orders for all inventory purchases, projects, and other items
- Verify invoices and unit costs compared to quoted costs at the time of the purchase order
- Ensure invoices are received from vendors, reviewed for accuracy, matched to packing slips, purchase orders and quotes, and then work as a liaison with the accounts payable team
- Verify state sales and use tax for all applicable items
- Ensure proper recording of freight bills to either expense or inventory accounts
- Assist in the scheduling of install and maintenance work
- Other duties as assigned
Competencies
- Must be committed to the highest level of confidentiality, have sound judgement, and be able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- 2+ years in a similar role
- Effective written and oral communication
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Excel (a must)
- Excellent interpersonal skill
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy is imperative
- Able to work on deadline in fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic, work independently, and a dependable team player
- Excellent problem solving and people skills
- Use of forklift and pallet jack preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift-up to 50 pounds at times
- Unload delivery trucks using hydraulic forklift and organize materials using a pallet jack
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen (and Random Selections)
