Tool Technician - Full-time / Part-time

We are looking for a TOOL TECHNICHIAN for a growing manufacturing company in Valparaiso!

In this role you would…

· Coordinate all activities in the Punch Press Department. (Position will require punch press operation.)

· Analyze data/designs for proposed product specifications to determine feasibility and best die design of product proposal.

· Quote and coordinate changes on dies internally and with vendors as required to produce the best quality part.

· Troubleshoot stamping processes to meet quality criteria.

· Assist in prototyping/research and development of new and existing tooling and materials. Oversee maintenance/repairs of punch presses, feed lines, and controls used in production. Repair or modify dies as required.

· Conduct sampling of new dies and evaluating fit and function.

· Consult as needed with set-up personnel to ensure optimum production, machine life and quality of product

Requirements:

• Experience with punch press die maintenance, change over and set-up of progressive dies needed.
• Tool maker experience with sharpening and fabricating punches and dies desired.
• Tool and Die Makers Journeyman’s Card or four to ten years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Excellent Math skills
