Summary This position will be responsible for picking pumps and motors from provided design conditions using catalogs and online resources. Also assist in trouble shooting existing equipment and providing recommendations on the steps, and parts, needed to correct the issues. Occasional physical visit to job sites may be required. Will also need to be able to answer questions/concerns about our product line. Extensive and continuous training will be performed to ensure this capability. This person will be expected to secure the required information to quote customers on their needs be it simple parts quotes to recording all the pertinent information needed by our engineers to supply equipment based on specifications of the job. Travel to manufacturers for meetings and training is to be expected. This individual will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain a professional image of the company. Integrity, passion, creativity, mathematics and attention to detail are essential for this role. Job Duties * Select pumps and systems based on customer provided information * Use online resources as well as catalogs to select & troubleshoot pumps * Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base * Overcome objections of prospective customers * Emphasize product/service features and benefits take requests for quotations; discuss benefits of Cross Pump as a vendor * Order entry, parts lookup, and other uses of corporate software * Possible outside sales potential for generating and developing new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold-calling if necessary * Handle fast paced large workloads efficiently while maintaining a pleasant demeanor. * Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner * Learn the office software in order to use the marketing data such as customer history, vendor information, inventory system, quotation interface and other applicable sales management tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness * Build and maintain ongoing awareness of new products and services of the vendors we represent * Occasional Company funded overnight/multi-night stay at motels in order to attend trade shows, conferences, employee training * Meet and travel with manufacture reps from our vendors including but not limited to answering questions about their products representation in the field and taking them on sales calls to customers of interest Requirements * High School Degree * Prior work experience in not required * Demonstrated high level of integrity and work ethic with solid time and territory management skills as the workloads can be quite large * Professional demeanor and appearance * Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills * Self motivated bringing an engaging level of enthusiasm to the customer * Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures (nothing overly complex) * Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record Working Conditions * Ability to travel when necessary * Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals * Occasional lifting of items up to 60 lbs * Potential for work outside the office as a salesman when times are slow (company vehicle provided) * Potential for occasional company funded overnight/multi-night stay at motels * 40 hour full time work week (8am - 5pm Monday - Friday) with a 1 hour lunch * Expense account to cover work related expenses as well as lunch while on the road * Company insured vehicle available to employee for company related needs
