This position is part of a team for developing enabling technology capabilities within  Optum International. Defining and developing these new capabilities requires an experienced, assertive and customer-focused business/systems analysts. This position will utilize a combined technology and healthcare background to create new capabilities which enable bringing products to solve healthcare business problems. In this fast paced position, the senior business/systems analyst will work with customers and internal stakeholders, including Product Management, Subject Matter Experts, and Software Development teams.

Primary Responsibilities:


·         The candidate will gather, document and manage business requirements from both customers and internal stakeholders.


·         The candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills.


·         The candidate will assist is creating the Test Cases (with the Quality Analysts) and participate in User Acceptance Testing


·         The candidate will assist the Architects/Developers as part of requirements translation into functional systems specification documents.


·         The candidate will be responsible for meeting or exceeding all defined target goals and milestone dates for the project in order to ensure its overall success


 

Requirements

Requirements


Minimum of 3 years' experience analyzing business needs and creating business requirements


Minimum of 3 years' experience systems analysis and functional/technical specification writing


Experience in Agile and Waterfall systems development lifecycle methodologies


Up to 25% international travel could also be required.


Willing to work non-traditional hours. Given the global nature of this project - early morning or late evening conference calls are required.


Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or technology related field.


Assets


Health care experience/background


Good analytical and problem-solving skills.


Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)


Knowledge of the following is helpful, but not required; user authentication, authorization standards such as SAML, Ping Federate, LDAP, Siteminder or experience setting up web or healthcare related security management systems


Understanding of standards technologies like J2EE, ASP.NET, Relational Databases (Oracle, My SQL, SQL Server)


Ability to deal with ambiguity including experience successfully working with the unknown


Proactive demeanor - "get it done" mentality
