We are looking for an experienced Applications Support Engineer/Developer to join our IT Production Support Team to assist in managing and coordinating all production related activities with the Service Coordinator and a team of offshore resources. Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibility, at a high level, includes application availability, reliability and stability on a 7 by 24 by 365 basis
Be willing to work on 24x7 on call basis
Ensure timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding SLAs
Ensure that the work delivered by the team is of high quality
Work with business to prioritize production issues for resolution
Assist Service Coordinator and Service Manager in providing management status reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis
Assist Service Coordinator and Service Manager in scheduling OM and work order tasks including management of customer-driven priorities
Ensure that all documentation has been updated and that work product meets UDP / SOX compliance requirements
Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan
Assist Service Coordinator as a liaison between offshore resources and business/ onsite IT management
Assist in Providing estimates (or coordinate estimates from off shore) on all break/fix, and problem-management activities
Identify application performance improvement initiatives and implement the same in consultation with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager
Work with the Service Coordinator and Service Manager in process improvement initiatives as directed by the service manager
Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan
Provide leadership in critical production issue resolution (both Priority 1 and Priority 2)

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of development and testing experience on main programming languages ASP.NET AND Java
2+ years of experience working with SQL Server Database
2+ years of Senior level Applications Developer experience
3+ years of SDLC experience
United States Citizenship
Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Department od Defense eQuip Form SF87
Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree or High School diploma/GED with 5+ years equivalent experience
Knowledge of web development concepts
Healthcare Industry experience
Healthcare-related experience with HIPAA X12 transactions (i.e.270/271 - Eligibility, 276/277 - Claims Status, 837 - Claims Submission, 835 - Remits, 278 - Auth & Referrals, 834 - Enrollment, 820 - Premium, Paper Claims
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
Proficiency with MS Visio
As a requirement of UnitedHealth Group’s contract with the Department of Defense, this position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 http://www.opm.gov/forms/pdf_fill/sf86.pdf, (the National Agency Check or NAC). Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued employment in this role. NAC processing will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6 months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense. Candidates will be allowed to begin employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance, and final results will be communicated as they are received.
