Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing setting.
Preferred: Brake Press, CNCs, Stamping Presses (Mostly Metal)
Machine Tech 1
This is running a Brake Press on the assembly line. Bends the sheet metal for the backs of fireplaces
Job Purpose:
This position has the responsibility of forming and bending quality parts for production.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Operate brake press machine to form and bend parts
* Perform matching and flattening operations of a diversified nature
* Remove material from machine and store in designated areas
* Perform quality audit check on first, middle and last part
* Record count of parts made, time started and ended, and breaks
* Put scrap in hopper periodically throughout shift; record part deposited to hopper and your initials
* Ability to set up and adjust own machine in accordance with product instructions and drawings
* Ensure work area is neat and clean at end of shift
* Perform other duties as assigned
This position requires the ability to read, write, use decimals or fractions, use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, and / or adjustable measuring instruments. Minor judgment is required surrounding procedures and methods, as the program being run dictates the job.
Tools and equipment that may be used in this position consist of wrenches, squares, protractor, pliers, lift hoists, snips, screwdriver and other assorted hand tools and measuring devices necessary to perform the job.
This position requires use of judgment to comply with instructions and ability to make decisions. Concentrated visual attention is required to perform to close tolerances requiring great accuracy and quality.
The ability to frequently lift or move up to 60 lbs. with occasional moving or lifting over 60 lbs. is a requirement of this position.
