About this job

Position Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain quality systems, including PFMEA, Control Plan and Operator Instructions.
  • Research and investigate quality problems on the shop floor.
  • Manage 8D problem solving process to eliminate quality issues.
  • Respond to internal and external customer complaints.
  • Coordinate and assist with defective parts analysis to determine problem and root cause.
  • Write procedures for reworking and sorting material.
  • Write instructions and train operators to use gauging equipment.
  • Perform capability studies on equipment.
  • Communicate with operators, work center personnel, other departments, suppliers, and others to resolve quality and other issues.
  • Complete necessary reports and paperwork.
  • Work with plants to reduce quality failure costs.
  • Develop reports and responses to customers as required.
  • Audit Division Plant quality systems.
  • Other activities as required.

Qualifications:

Quality Engineer experienced (2+ years) preferred.Six Sigma Greenbelt status preferred.Experience in using minitab preferred.

Additional Skills, Knowledge or Abilities (non-physical):

  • CQA preferred. Certified Lead Auditor preferred.
  • Certification in Quality Engineering, or Reliability Engineering by the American Society for Quality Control will be considered in lieu of a BS degree in engineering.

Experience:

Manufacturing experience (2+ years) preferred.

Education:

B. S. degree in Engineering, or related technical field is preferred.

  1. Physical stamina to work long overtime hours consecutively
  2. Physical strength to maneuver and lift, occasionally, heavy parts
