Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking an Instructional Designer for a contract opportunity in Voorhees, NJ with our partner, a provider of high-quality water and wastewater service.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for managing complex and varied training projects and working with business leaders in support of employee learning and development. Designs instruction, develops content, delivers and monitors educational programs for adult learners; to ensure employees in field operations, department/office areas, and business functions have the knowledge to perform their jobs.
  • Works collaboratively with business leaders and subject matter experts to identify opportunities and recommend solutions to address learning needs. Leads requirements gathering sessions and manages project tasks and deliverables. Provides thorough input to post implementation and support plans. May direct work of junior trainers and act as a resource to colleagues to recommend and execute educational programs. 20%
  • Designs, develops, and implements course curriculum, develops educational programs and content utilizing adult learner methodology (I.e. ADDIE) for in field operations, department/office areas, and business functions. Integrates best practices, communication, change management and safety strategies into educational initiatives. Works with educational vendors to provide learning solutions. Solves wide ranging problems and may recommend and implement learning solutions to broader business needs. 40%
  • Delivers educational programs in field and office settings via wide- ranging methods (I.e. Formal and informal methods such as: Hands-on, instructor led, virtual classroom, eLearning, mobile, audio/video, leaders as teachers, social learning, on-demand/self D led and partnering with educational institutions). 20%
  • Provides input for learning assessments and tracks proficiency gains of employees using higher-level learning evaluation models (I.e. Kirkpatrick's five levels of evaluation). Develops, delivers, and supports post-implementation refresher educational programs and materials.10%
  • Monitors trends and researches education/training related to emerging technologies, techniques and methodologies and shares information with colleagues to ensure ongoing improvement of educational programs, learning management systems, and other educational tools. 10%

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of relatable post high school courses and directly related work required.
  • 3-5 years of experience required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.
  • Degrees in adult learning or instructional or technology design preferred.
  • Adult Learning Certifications preferred
  • Must possess working knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodology (such as ADDIE).
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft office suite of products including PowerPoint, Publisher, Word and Excel as well as Adobe suite of design applications, SharePoint, Captivate, Camtasia, uPerform and other e- learning authoring tools.
  • Working knowledge of the production of multimedia education to edit and produce audio and video for e-learning and web based materials. General knowledge of the creation of e-learning, mobile, and multimedia educational programs including audio and video production and gamification.
  • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Additional Information

  • 3-6+ months contract
  • Hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm
