About this job

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Maintain close contact with senior executives, executive assistants and other support staff regarding itineraries, logistics, travel times, and location
  • Chauffer the Chairmen, Chief Executive Officers and Senior Executives to and from their residence, meetings and airports on an as-needed basis
  • Assist in advances for locations on and off site of client property and provide protection and safety
  • Understand situational awareness and security trends and be able to utilize tools to monitor
  • Be familiar with site operations, policies and procedures
  • Be familiar with technology-based programs related to monitoring and reporting
  • Maintain assigned fleet vehicles in a clean serviceable condition, transporting cars to dealership, responsibility for emergency repairs to vehicles
  • Monitor situational awareness systems including security feeds and local and national sources to support threat awareness and forecasting that may impact client Executives; monitor and analyze on-going regional security and political issues, trends and events and liaise with client
  • In the event of an incident posing a credible threat to staff or travelers, assist in accounting for the well-being of all personnel and provide support as needed
  • Support Operational/GSOC functions as needed; support training functions as needed
  • Report on monthly statistics by collecting, analyzing and documenting account activities

Requirements

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid Connecticut Guard Card
  • Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a State of Connecticut Armed Security Guard (Blue Card)
  • Must be certified in each of the following American Red Cross (or equivalent) courses:
    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Automated external defibrillation (AED) – Healthcare Provider Level
    • Advanced first aid, Oxygen Administration, Bloodborne pathogen and Epinephrine and Bronchodilator usage
  • Must possess a current and valid Connecticut driver’s license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one of the following:
    • A minimum of 5 years of work experience civilian or military law enforcement
    • A minimum of 5 years of work experience as a G4S Custom Protection Officer, Bank Protection Officer
    • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a progressively responsible supervisory/management level role in the protective service industry

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to drag a person from the vehicle to a prone position in order to administer CPR/Heart Defibrillator
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules to include working holidays, evenings and weekends
  • Must be willing and able to work overnights including staying overnight in hotels
  • Mustst possess knowledge of Hartford, CT and Tri-State areas, airports, etc.
  • Mustst possess knowledge of basic law enforcement policies
  • Mustst possess knowledge of basic automobile mechanics
  • Must possess good levels of interpersonal skills to exchange information, answer questions, interact with senior executives and greet visitors
  • Must possess problem solving skills to handle and prioritize executive’s requests vs. other duties
  • Must have highly technical driving skills
  • Must have expertise in driving regulations
  • In an emergency situation, must have physical ability to hastily move executive into vehicle, to enter chauffeur vehicle expediently to depart area
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must submit to a pre-employment drug test
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office/Control Center; minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures is expected.

Major activity:        Working on a PC and using telephone or radio while sitting or standing, walking

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:      Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
