Welder I (Entry Level) - Full-time / Part-time

Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Welder I (Entry Level) for a 6+ month contract opportunity in North East, MD with our partner, an engineering and plant construction company for clients in the metals industry. Daily hours are 6am - 4pm.

Job Duties

• Performs welding processes on aluminum, steel and other metals’ parts using welding metals and metal alloys.
• Welds parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Under general supervision, uses hand welding and flame cutting equipment such as arc welders, gas welders, and gas torches to weld together metal components (flat, horizontal, or vertical plates and pipes).
• Works from sketches, prints, operation sheets, preliminary drawings, and written/verbal instructions.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded.
• Builds up worn and/or defected surfaces.
• Other work may be assigned at Management’s discretion.

Job Qualifications

• High School or Equivalent
• Welding certification - in house training provided to obtain certifications.
• Driver’s license.

Tools/Equipment Used: Hand Tools

Safety Equipment Used: Safety Boots; Hard Hat; Safety Glasses; Welding Gloves; Fall Protection; Ear Plugs; FR Uniforms; Welding Hood; Long sleeved shirts/jackets.
